All About The Rebels
The Rebels bring a four-game unbeaten streak into the weekend, and have not allowed a goal in the last 2:17.40, a stretch that includes two straight overtime contests.
Leading the Rebels is senior forward Jenn Wolfe, the top scorer in the Mountain West with nine points, while sophomore midfielder Susie Bernal is third with seven. Senior goalkeeper Kylie Wassell meanwhile comes in with consecutive shutouts and three total this season.
Scouting Washington State
Not only have the Cougars not suffered a loss yet in the 2013 season, they have not allowed a goal since the opening contest, having posted four straight shutouts. The Washington State offense though, after scoring eight goals in the first weekend, has been held to just two total goals over the past three games.
Micaela Castain leads the squad with 11 points off four goals and three assists, while Nicole Setterlund and Kailiana Johnson have two each. In goal is Gurveen Clair, who owns a 0.21 GAA and three solo shutouts this season.
The Vandals have struggled this season thus far, with an 0-5 record while being outscored by a 19-3 margin. However, all five of those contests were on the road, the team finally hosts a home game on Sept. 13 against Eastern Washington, just prior to playing the Rebels. A year ago, UNLV posted a 1-0 win in Las Vegas on Sept. 23.
Three players have all scored one goal for Idaho this season. A pair of goalies have split time in the net, Marina Siegl (3.2 GAA) and Torell Stewart (4.40 GAA).
Next Time Out
For the third straight weekend the Rebels will be playing away from Las Vegas, as they will play in the Omni Hotels Colorado Classic on Sept. 20 and 22 in Boulder, Colo. UNLV will start the weekend taking on Northern Colorado on Sept. 20, before finishing off against the host Colorado squad on Sept. 22. Both games will start at 12:30 pm (PT).
