Rebels Look To Extend Unbeaten Streak|
Sept. 26, 2007
LAS VEGAS -
After finishing last weekend with a win over 11th-ranked Washington State and a tie with Iowa State, the Rebels saw their unbeaten streak grow to four games. UNLV (4-4-2) will look to keep that streak going this weekend, with its last two non-conference road games of the year, at Pacific and Nevada, Reno.
Pacific is 5-2-1 on the year and have won two straight, but the Rebels will be the first regionally ranked opponent the Tigers have faced all season. UNR meanwhile has struggled after its sudden change in head coaches days before the start of the season, and are 1-5-1 for the year after being ranked in the region in the preseason. UNR opened the year on a three-game losing streak, and are on a current-two game slide. However, they will be playing at home for the first time in four games in the contest against the Rebels.
The Rebels know that to pull off a pair of road victories, they will need to play defense as well as they did this past weekend in the UNLV Rebel Classic, where it outshot Washington State and Iowa State, and in fact allowed just five shots on goal combined over a total of 200 minutes.
