Rebels Shut Out In Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's Courtney Crane scored her fourth goal of the season midway through the second half to give the Sun Devils a 1-0 victory over the visiting UNLV women's soccer team on Friday night from Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. With the loss, the Rebels dropped to 4-6-1 on the year, while ASU improved to 5-3-2.
Defense dominated the game, as both teams were held to a combined nine shots. The winning score came in the 64th minute, when Lara Kezer sent over a cross from the left side that Crane headed in for the winning score.
ASU held a 6-3 edge on shots, and 3-0 edge on corner kicks to earn the victory. Kim Bingham earned the shutout for the Sun Devils, while Ciera Nero collected one save in goal for UNLV.
The Rebels will close out their non-conference schedule on Sunday, as they host Pepperdine at 1 pm at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
