LAS VEGAS - Two days after she was named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, UNLV's Tanya Roberts was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday. Roberts becomes the third Rebel in school history to earn Soccer America national weekly honors.

A senior midfielder and native of Fremont, Calif., Roberts scored her second game-winner in three games on Sunday, a header off a free kick in the 107th minute in the second overtime to give the Rebels a 1-0 victory over 20th-ranked Pepperdine. The win over the Waves was the first-ever by UNLV over a ranked team in its nine-year history of women's soccer.

Roberts also scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win at Creighton on Sept. 24, which gave UNLV the Blue Jay Classic tournament title. She is tied for the team lead this year with two game-winners, and also has three assists for seven points, which ties her for second on the team.

UNLV (5-6-1) will return to action on Thursday, as it takes on Utah in the MWC season opener for both teams at 2 pm (PST) in Salt Lake City.
