LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's soccer team, currently 7-2-2 on the season with a four-game unbeaten streak, received the first regional ranking in team history as the Rebels were tied for 10th, along with Utah, in this week's NSCAA West Region rankings released on Tuesday.

UNLV is coming off one of the best weekends in team history, with back-to-back shutouts victories over Idaho State (1-0 on Thursday) and Arizona State (2-0 on Sunday). It was also the fifth and sixth straight wins at home for the Rebels at Peter Johann Memorial Field, tying a school record. Both of their losses this year are to ranked teams (No. 17 Kansas, and No. 7 Tennessee), while one of the two ties was at Rice, which is ranked in the Central region.

The Rebels will open Mountain West play this weekend, as they take on defending conference champion Utah on Thursday in Salt Lake City.
