UNLV Women's Soccer weekly release

The biggest weekend of the regular season awaits the UNLV women's soccer team this Friday and Sunday. First the Rebels will welcome the third-ever top 10 team to visit Peter Johann Memorial Field, a 7 pm contest on Friday against No. 7 San Diego State. Several events will also be surrounding that game, as first it's Breast Cancer Awareness Night, with admission just $1 for any fans wearing pink to the game, and the Rebels will wear special pink jersey tops (along with white shorts) for the contest. Second, the SDSU game has been set as Rebel Kids Club Night, with pre-game activities including bounce houses and face painting for all fans, while there will be post-game autographs from the UNLV players. And lastly, Friday is the Scarlet/Gray Every Day game for UNLV, with all other Rebel athletic teams coming out to support the women's soccer squad.

Sunday's game will be at 1 pm against New Mexico, and it's also Senior Day for four Rebels, Caitlin Allen, Macy Jo Harrison, Julie Owens and Justine Sauder. Both games are key for UNLV, as the top four teams in the Mountain West are all facing each other this weekend. SDSU and UNM both stand at 2-0 while the third 2-0 squad, Fresno State, will also host the Aztecs and the Lobos this weekend. UNLV is the only other undefeated team in the league at 1-0-1. Friday's contest against SDSU will be webcast live on, thanks to the student-run UNLV TV production.
