Rebels Play Two On The Road|
Oct. 18, 2007
LAS VEGAS -
Coming off one of its best weekends of the season, the UNLV women's soccer team look to build on that momentum as it goes on the road for the first time this season in conference play. UNLV (6-3-5, 1-0-1) opened the league season with a 2-2 tie with preseason co-favorite Utah in a regionally televised matchup, and followed that with a 1-0 shutout of San Diego State.
Both those games were at home however, this weekend UNLV will take to the road to face a tough New Mexico squad in Albuquerque on Friday night at 6 pm (PST). Following that will be a Sunday matchup at TCU, which is coached by former UNLV head coach Dan Abdalla, at 11 am (PST).
The Rebels stand tied for second with four points (one win, one tie) in the conference, thanks to a offense that has scored eight goals in the last three games, after going four games with a single goal. UNLV will need to continue that production on offense this weekend, as they play a tough Lobo squad that is very similar to the Rebels in that they don't allow many goals at all, while TCU has a very high-scoring offense.
