Five Named All-Conference

Jenn Wolfe leads UNLV this year with 24 points.

LAS VEGAS ( - A school-record five members of the UNLV women's soccer team received All-Mountain West honors as the league's season awards were announced on Tuesday morning by the league office. The Rebels also set a school record with four players named to the first team, while a fifth earned second-team honors. Earning first-team honors were Caitlin Allen, Courtney Botelho, Macy Jo Harrison and Jenn Wolfe. Kylie Wassell was a second-team selection.

Allen, a senior defender and native of San Diego, earned her second career honor after being named second-team in 2011. She anchored a defense that has posted nine shutouts this year, while also scoring two goals this season, including one game-winner against Florida Atlantic (Sept. 2).

Wolfe, junior forward from Olathe, Kan., was the top offensive player for the Rebels this season, as her 24 points and 11 goals are both second in the Mountain West. She's also currently tied for fourth in school history for points in a season, and tied for second in goals in a season. Her five-game winners is second in the league as well. This is the first league award for Wolfe.

Botelho, a junior midfielder and native of Honolulu, Hawaii, also earns her first career season honor. She has three points on the season (one goal, one assist) while in charge of leading the attack from the midfield. The fourth first-team member, Harrison, is another repeat selection after earning second team honors in 2011. Harrison set a new UNLV record this season with eight assists, good for second in the league and added four goals for 16 points on the year.

The final all-conference honoree, Wassell, is a junior goalkeeper from Las Vegas. She is one shutout away from tying the school record with nine this year, which leads the conference, and has shut out six of the last eight Rebel opponents, including five in conference play. Wassell also has 64 saves and a career-best 0.84 GAA.



The Rebels, who finished the regular season 11-3-4 under first-year head coach Michael Coll open play in the 2012 MWC Tournament on Wednesday as the fourth seed. They will meet fifth-seeded Fresno State at 7 pm in San Diego, as San Diego State is the host of this year's championships.
