LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's soccer player Katie Carney picked up her second regional honor of the season on Friday, as she was named to the Soccer Buzz All-West Region Third Team. Carney was also named this week to the NSCAA All-West Region Third Team, and is the first Rebel to ever earn two regional honors in the same season.

Carney, a senior forward from Lake Forest, Calif., was the 2007 Mountain West Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Rebels in scoring for the fourth straight year. She finished the season with 21 points this season, and had 10 in league play, second best in the MWC. She also had two game-winners in MWC games, including against No. 24 BYU on Nov. 2 in a 1-0 double-overtime win that clinched the regular season title for UNLV.

Carney, who was also named to the All-MWC First Team, finished her career at UNLV third all time in career points (65), third in career goals (23) and set new Rebel records with 19 career assists and nine game-winners.
