Stephanie Bean enters her first year as an undergraduate assistant coach at UNLV. Prior to becoming a coach, Bean spent the 2008 season as a Rebel student-athlete. She is currently in the process of finishing up her undergraduate degree in university studies with concentrations in philosophy and health care administration.

Bean came to UNLV for her senior season after playing her first three years at Portland State University, where she ranked fifth in career walks and seventh in career home runs.

As a Rebel, she started 56 games in 2008 and recorded 12 RBI, while she scored 28 runs. She was named the Mountain West Conference's Player of the Week (March 18) after hitting for a .733 average with 11 hits, seven runs and two RBI. She racked up 11 multiple-hit games, six multiple-run games and one multiple-RBI game. She recorded three game-winning hits on the year, which via the long ball. She cranked a walk-off home run vs. Arizona State (Feb. 10) to hand the Sun Devils their first of only five losses en route to their national championship. She muscled out a three-run shot at New Mexico on April 20.
