Kendall Fearn enters her first year as an assistant coach at UNLV. Fearn is no stranger to the UNLV softball program after spending five years (2006-10) as a student-athlete and one more as a volunteer assistant coach. With Fearn on staff as a volunteer coach the 2011 Rebels ranked nationally in slugging percentage (11th, .520), home runs per game (15th, 1.2) and batting average (17th, .321). The offense broke three UNLV single-season records, as well: home runs (54), slugging percentage (.520) and on-base percentage (.408). After graduating from Carlsbad High School (Calif.) in 2005, Fearn became a four-time letterwinner at UNLV and was selected to two all-conference teams. She also earned MW Player of the Week honors twice. In the classroom, she was a three-time academic all-conference member and was named a scholar-athlete once. In all, she played in 228 games with 227 starts. She owned a batting average of .298 with 186 hits, 75 of which went for extra bases. She finished her career ranked in seven categories of UNLV's career record book. She has her name listed as high as third in RBI (142). She is fourth in walks (91); fifth in home runs (34), total bases (330) and slugging percentage (.528); seventh in doubles (40) and ninth in hit-by-pitch (12). She graduated from UNLV in 2009 with her undergraduate degree in psychology and this past spring she earned her master's in sports education leadership. |
