Rebels Close Out Season with Series Victory Over San Jose State

Senior Morgan Ettinger pitches a complete-game gem to win the final start of her career in a 4-2 victory over Mountain West Champion San Jose State.

2017 (Junior) - After splitting time between the field and the circle her first two season, the junior moved exclusively to left field in her third season ... Was one of just three Rebels to start all 52 games ... Was the team's top offensive performer for the season, leading the team in almost every major statistical category ... Was first in batting average (.344), at-bats (160), hits (55) and RBI (29) ... Added three home runs, eight doubles and 18 runs scored ... Second on the team in slugging percentage (.450) and on-base percentage (.383) ... Had 13 multi-hit games, including a team-high four hit performance in a 12-7 come-from-behind win at Reno on April 14 after going 4-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored ... Her walk-off home run against Weber State on Feb. 17 was the first for UNLV since former Rebel Garie Blando hit on in a 6-5 victory over Mountain West foe New Mexico on March 27, 2015 ... Recorded 17 of her 28 RBIs over a month's stretch from Feb. 12 through Mar. 12 ... Drew 11 walks on the season ... Had a .959 fielding percentage with 68 put-outs ... Earned her first career All-Conference honor after being named to the Mountain West Second Team All-Conference. 

2016 (Sophomore) -
 Started in all but one of 53 games played with 20 starts at first base, 13 in the outfield, 12 in the circle and eight as the designated player…Shared the team lead in home runs (five) and had a team-high 74 total bases…Registered 14 extra-base hits, including eight doubles and one triple, 13 walks, 28 RBI and 21 runs…Placed in the top 50 in the nation for toughest to strikeout, striking out once for every 22.5 at-bats…Ranked tied for seventh in relief appearances (16) in the Mountain West 10th in appearances in the circle (28) and 10th in putouts (204)…Put together two hitting streaks of eight game, with hits in all but one of the first 17 games of the season… Collected 10 multiple-hit games and eight multiple-RBI games…Hit the game winning RBI against Syracuse (Feb. 13), Southern Utah (March 3) and DePaul (March 10)…Scored the game winning runs against Syracuse, DePaul and San Diego State (March 25)…Pitched 90.2 innings in 28 appearances in the circle…Had a 5.25 ERA, allowing 141 hits, 84 runs (68 earned) and 37 walks with 35 strikeouts…Threw three complete games and gathered one save…Struck out a career-high four batters in a win against Valparaiso (March 13).

2015 (Freshman) - Started in 24 of 35 games with 14 as the starting pitcher, nine in the outfield, and one as the designated player ... Batted .211 with six runs, 10 RBIs and 16 hits, with five of them extra-base hits (four doubles and one home run) ... Walked twice ... Made 19 appearances with a 3-10 record in the pitching circle ... Had an ERA of 7.34 in 61.0 innings of work with 96 hits, 75 runs (64 earned), and 38 walks with 22 strikeouts ... Made four appearances without allowing any earned runs ... Named to the All-Mountain West Spring Academic Team in 2015.

High School: A 2014 graduate of Riverside Polytechnic HS in Riverside, Calif. ... Lettered three years in softball and twice in volleyball ... Helped the Bears to a pair of Inland Valley championships in 2013 and `14 and quarterfinal finishes in the CIF playoffs in 2011 and `14 ...
