Jamie Maier begins her second season as an assistant coach with the UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving program and coaches the distance groups.
Maier was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Wisconsin where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology.
While competing at Wisconsin, Maier earned Big Ten championships in the 800 free relay in 1998, 1999, 2000 (7:17.53) and 2001 (7:16.18). She was an NCAA Qualifier and All-American all four years and was an Olympic Trial Qualifier for the 2000 Olympics in Syndey. She was also honored as the Most Improved Athlete in 1999 and 2000.
Maier began coaching in 2001 with the Badger Aquatic Club, coaching children ages 9-12. Following her stint with the Badger Aquatic Club, she served as head coach for two seasons with the High Point Swim Club.
