Wronn Named MWC Swimmer Of The Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV freshman Katie Wronn was named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Wronn, a native of Citrus Heights, Calif., Wronn won the 50-yard freestyle (24.43) and swam on two first-place relay teams (200 medley and 200 free) to lead the Rebels to a win over defending MWC champion BYU last week. She also placed second in the 50 free (24.81) vs. Nevada, Reno, and paced the 400-yard free relay team to a first-place finish (3:36.29).

The Rebels (3-3, 2-1 MWC), winners of three straight, look for their third conference win of the year as they host Colorado State on Saturday at 2 pm in Buchanan Natatorium.
