Kuestermeyer, Williams Sweep Weekly Honors

LAS VEGAS - UNLV's Bailey Kuestermeyer and Wendy Williams were named the Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, it was announced on Thursday by the league. It's the fourth career weekly honor for Kuestermeyer, while Williams picks up the first of her career.
Both were key in helping the Rebels claim the team title in the UNLV Winter Invite, held this past weekend on the UNLV campus. Kuestermeyer, a junior from Puyallup, Wash., won two individual titles, while claiming runner-up honors in her third event. She began the meet by winning the 500 free in 4:57.37, the sixth fastest time in the league this year. Kuestermeyer followed that with a first place swim of 4:25.81 in the 400 IM, and finished with a 2:19.68 in the 200 breast to take second place, and the time was also the fourth-fastest in the MWC this season. She also swam the breaststroke leg on UNLV's second place 400 medley relay (3:50.35), as well as on the third place 200 medley relay (1:46.55).
Williams, a senior and native of Las Vegas, was the Rebels' top performer in the diving events. She took second on the 1-meter with a score of 215.65, while her score of 210.70 placed her second as well on the 3-meter event.
