Rebs Complete Saturday Sweep

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - After losing the doubles point, the UNLV women’s tennis team had to play from behind vs. UC Riverside Saturday afternoon but easily won singles play for a 4-1 final to complete a doubleheader sweep at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels, who downed Youngstown State 4-0 earlier in the day, improved to 5-3 while the Highlanders fell to 1-6

UCR won two doubles matches, both by the score of 6-4, to earn a 1-0 lead but the hosts won the first set on all six courts and quickly notched four singles points to end things.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: En-Pei Huang teamed with Zhu to win their doubles match at the top of the lineup and then blitzed her opponent at No. 3 in singles, Chloe Pham, 6-2, 6-0.

STAT OF THE MATCH: UNLV has not lost a singles match during four home matches this season.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will play a Mountain West opponent for the first time this season when it hosts Colorado State Sunday starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
