Utes Hand UNLV Netters First Home Loss|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 36th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost at home for the first time in six outings this season, 4-3, to No. 39 Utah on a warm and sunny Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels fell to 5-3 overall while the Utes, who are playing as part of the Pac-12 Conference for the first time, improved to 5-2.
UNLV began the morning by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point. Aleksandra Josifoska and Nives Pavlovic downed Anastasia Putilina and Callie Craig 9-7 at the top of the lineup while Anett Ferenczi-Bako and Ella Bourchier won by the same score over Danielle Flores and Natasha Smith on court three.
Utah rallied in singles, however, taking four of the six matches to secure the win.
UNLV sophomore Lucia Batta, ranked 50th in the nation in singles, improved to 18-6 overall and 8-0 in dual matches by downing 104th-ranked Sarah Pham at the second spot, 6-4, 7-6. UNLV got its third point when Pavlovic outlasted Craig on court three, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8).
Next up, UNLV hosts No. 47 Long Beach State on Saturday beginning with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV tennis matches is free of charge.
