LAS VEGAS ( - The UNLV women's tennis team split six singles matches but narrowly dropped the key doubles point at the start of the day in a 4-3 loss to Marshall on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Lady Rebels fell to 9-5 with their second straight loss while the Thundering Herd evened its record at 8-8.

UNLV won 8-2 at the second doubles position as Aleksandra Josifoska and Janine Erasmus downed Ellie Ball and Maria Voscekova 8-2. After the Herd won on court three, the point would come down to the top of the lineup and Diminika Zaprazna and Kara Kucin outlated Lucia Batta and Nives Pavlovic 9-8 to give their team a 1-0 lead.
