Women's Tennis Bounces Back|

SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) - A day after dropping its league opener, the 67th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team evened its Mountain West record at 1-1 with a 7-0 shutout of Colorado State at the Aztec Tennis Center on Sunday morning.
The Lady Rebels improved to 10-6 while the Rams fell to 3-10.
UNLV swept three doubles matches - all by the score of 8-2 -- for one team point. Nives Pavlovic and Aleksandra Josifoska downed Tori Arneson and Kaley Schultz at No. 1; Lucia Batta and Manon de Lanlay defeated Emese Kardhordo and Lauren Mulhern at No. 2; and Anett Ferenczi-Bako and Ella Bourchier won over Adriana and Veronika Wojakowska on court three.
The Lady Rebels did not lose a set in singles. Batta, ranked 59th, continued her fabulous spring with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Arneson at the top spot to improve her record in dual matches to 15-1 (27-7 overall) as a sophomore. Josifoska, ranked 125th, won 7-5, 6-1 over Natalie Heffron at No. 2; Pavlovic swept Schultz 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3; de Lanlay downed Mulhern 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4; Ferenczi-Bako won 6-2, 6-3 over Kardhordo at No. 5; and Bourchier downed Adriana Wojakowska 6-2, 6-3 on court six.
Next up, the Lady Rebels will close out their non-conference schedule with a visit from fourth-ranked Stanford on Wednesday. Doubles action begins at 10 a.m. and admission to the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
