The 51st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team continued its mastery of league rival San Diego State on Saturday with 5-1 win at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Lady Rebels have now defeated the Aztecs a stunning 11 straight times and lead the all-time series 16-10. UNLV improved to 15-8 overall and ended the regular season 5-2 in the Mountain West, finishing tied for second place. SDSU fell to 9-12 and 5-2.

Early morning showers forced the doubles matches to be canceled.

In singles, 58th-ranked Lucia Batta finished off a perfect run through the conference by downing Julia Wais 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at the top position. Batta improved her overall record to 30-8 and her dual-match mark to 20-2 and 7-0 vs. league opponents. Her 30 wins moved her into a tie for 10th place on the school's single-season winning list.

Before the match, the squad's lone senior, Rumyana Terzieva, was honored. The native of Sofia, Bulgaria, suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the year and finished with a career singles record of 40-24.

The Lady Rebels will now focus on preparing for the 2012 Mountain West Tennis Championships, which will be held in San Diego on April 26-29.
