PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Aleksandra Josifoska won her third straight singles match Wednesday to earn a spot in the main draw of the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships.

Playing at the Riviera Country Club, the junior made quick work of Yale's Hanna Yu, 6-3, 6-1, to advance. Josifoska, ranked 89th in the nation, joins her teammate in the elite field as junior Lucia Batta, ranked 43rd, previously earned one of 24 bids from across the country into the main draw.

It marks the first time in program history that more than one Lady Rebel will be in the final field of 32 at the Riviera.

"Aleks has been playing great tennis here," said UNLV assistant coach Lenoir Ramos Jr., who is overseeing the Rebel contingent at the California event. "She has the right attitude and is making amazing shots. We are looking forward to seeing what both she and Lucia can do in the main draw."

Earlier in the day in doubles play, the fifth-seeded duo of Josifoska and Nives Pavlovic was defeated 8-2 by Tennessee's Brynn Boren and Kata Szelky.
