Zhu Again Named MW Women's Tennis Player Of The Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV junior Aiwen Zhu was named Mountain West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks, the league announced.

The native of Wuxi, China, remains undefeated in singles matches during duals this spring at 5-0 after downing Ilze Hatting of No. 20 Arizona State, 6-3, 6-0, last weekend in Tempe. That followed wins at the top of the lineup over opponents from No. 11 Cal and Mississippi State.

Zhu, who is ranked No. 63 in the nation, stands 15-5 overall in singles. She and partner En-Pei Huang, who are ranked 60th, are 14-4 on the season.

The Rebels are back home this weekend with three matches. UNLV takes on Youngstown State starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. and then faces UC Riverside at 2 p.m. Admission to all UNLV matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
