Women's Tennis Hosting ITA Regional|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - More than 120 women's collegiate tennis players will compete this week (Oct. 12-16) at the 2011 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships to be held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the UNLV campus.
This is the second consecutive year that the ITA women's event will be in town. Members from 19 western teams will face off as individuals from Wednesday through Sunday on 12 courts each day in both singles and doubles.
This will be one of 24 USTA/ITA Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women taking place over these last two weekends of October at campuses throughout the country. The singles and doubles champions from the regionals will advance to the 2011 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, taking place November 3-6, at the indoor facilities at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
Wednesday's first round gets under way at 8:30 a.m. PT. A second round of singles will follow and doubles are scheduled to begin the following day with two rounds, followed by another round of singles. There will be consolation draws in singles and doubles to ensure each entrant at least two matches.
The finals are set for Sunday. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
