UNLV track & field sends Blok, Alexander and its 4x100m relay to the national meet.

During the 2012 indoor track season, Robinson led the Distance Medley Relay team to a second-place finish (11:52.41) at the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships. Kelsey Williamson and Brett Zorich, both members of the DMR team, placed first (2:08.52) and third (2:10.65), respectively in the 800m.
Outdoors his middle distance group had some outstanding performances, as well. The 4x800m relay team won the 2012 Texas Relays with a final time of 8:39.22. At the 2012 MW Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Robinson guided five Rebels to the finals of the 800m. Williamson, who had won the conference's indoor title, won the 800m crown with a time of 2:08.11. Both Williamson and Zorich qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary, where Zorich ran a then-personal best 2:05.39 to advance to the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Zorich then ran a 2:04.54 at the NCAA Championships to set a new personal record.
Robinson, who participated in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, is a four-time USA Outdoor champion (1999, '05, '06 and '07) and four-time USA Indoor champion (1999, '06, '08 and '09). He was the outdoor runner-up four times, as well (2002, '03, '04 and '05).
In 2011, he competed in his seventh consecutive IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Daegu, South Korea from Aug. 27-Sept. 4, 2011. He finished second at the 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June to earn a spot in the 800m competition with a final time of 1:44.49. In South Korea, he advanced to the semifinals.
Most recently, Robinson placed second in the 800m at the 2012 US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., running an outstanding 1:44.64, placing him on the US team heading to the London Olympic Games.
Robinson was named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week in June 2011, after winning the 800m race at the Rome Golden Gala Diamond League with a time of 1:45.09. In 2006, he posted 11 of the top-12 outdoor times by an American and was ranked seventh in the world by Track & Field News. He set his personal-best time of 1:43.68 that same year at a meet in Rome, Italy, which placed him as the seventh fastest American 800m runner of all time.
In an eight-year period, beginning in 2002, he was ranked either first or second in the United States by the publication.
On the collegiate level, he won four conference titles in a three-year period and took home the 1998 NCAA Outdoor championship in the 800m running for his alma mater, TCU. He anchored the Horned Frogs to a runner-up finish in the 4x400 championship that same year.
Robinson, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is a 1998 graduate of TCU, where he earned his undergraduate degree in social work. He received his master's degree in 2004 from Cal State Los Angeles in public administration.
Robinson has spent the past decade training and competing while coaching athletes from all age groups. "KD" as he is known in the track and field community has continued to have a successful running career as one of the United States' elite 800m athletes. He has also spent time as a public speaker, an educator at Santa Monica Unified School District and running his non-profit coaching organization, The Youth Track and Running Club (YTRC).
He is married to Stephanie Robinson and has two young sons, Zion (5) and Ishmael (2).
