UNLV Profile: One of the program’s bright newcomers last season who will contribute in the sprint events.
(2000-01 Freshman): Turned in the top time for the Rebels in the 800 meters with a 2:27.95 at the Southwest Indoor Classic to open the indoor season…Finished fourth in the outdoor 400 meter hurdles with a season best 1:03.18 at the All-Women’s Invitational in San Diego.
High School: A 2000 graduate of Reed High School in Sparks, Nev…Earned a total of six letters in basketball and track and field…Led the Raiders to three state team titles…Won the state title in the 300 meter hurdles as a senior and a freshman…Won the 800 meters state crown as a junior…Also won several zone championships…Two-time team MVP.
Personal: Naomi Vernique Osborne…Born Feb. 27, 1982 in Dallas, Texas, to parents Gino Osborne and Darline Huddleston…Has one brother…Goes by “Cherokee”…Accounting major at UNLV.
