SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program's Avi'Tal Perteete and Elisa Rovere finished second (2:09.01) and eighth (2:11.79), respectively, amongst collegiate competition in the women's 800m Saturday at the UW Invitational, which was held at the Dempsey Indoor.

The Rebels' Jartierra Grissom jumped 5-1 (1.55m) in the high jump to finish in a four-way tie for 19th, while Yamilet Biggers posted a personal-best time of 57.98 in the 400m. Spencer Moore ran the mile in 5:12.22.

QUOTABLE: "I was really impressed by how Avi won her section and managed her race today," said assistant coach Jebreh Harris. "Avi and Yamilet had personal bests in their races, which is exciting. Elisa also ran very competitive in her 800m season-opener, which is one second off her indoor personal best. We did well overall and we look forward to keeping the momentum going in a positive direction."

REBEL NOTES:
-Perteete won the sixth section of the 800m by .80 seconds over the second-place finisher.
-Biggers' indoor time of 57.98 in the 400m was nearly 1.5 seconds faster than her previous best of 59.43 registered last February at New Mexico's Don Kirby Invitational.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: The Rebels will travel next weekend to Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Classic (February 2-3).
