Williamson, Dean Win Events At Mountain T's|

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - A day after scoring eight top-eight finishes at the Mountain T's Invitational, the UNLV track & field team recorded 17 more during Saturday's action in Flagstaff, Ariz.. The Rebels were paced by victories in the 800m and high jump by Kelsey Williamson and Myra Dean, respectively, in the meet hosted by Northern Arizona at the Walkup Skydome. Besides the pair of victories, Erin Morris, who ranks third overall in UNLV's indoor performance list in the 60m hurdles, improved upon her personal-best time with an 8.52 effort (third place) in the event.
Williamson won the 800m in a time of 2:09.54, and she was followed closely in the standings by teammate Corey Honeycutt, who finished third in 2:15.14 (PB).
Dean led the Scarlet & Gray's effort in the jump events with a personal-best height of 5-6 (1.68m). A trio of Rebels placed in the triple jump with Taylar Mills 37-8 (11.48m) coming in third, while Ayana Gales was fifth (36-2/11.02m) and Olivia Hudson was eighth (35-1.75/10.71m).
The triple jump wasn't the only event that UNLV showed well in, as the 4x400m relay equaled its total in finishers. The quartet of Monay Meggs, Secoral Yanez, Alva Castillo and Williamson were fourth (3:51.7). The foursome of Miranda Menzies, Laura Affeld, Courtney Allen and Honeycutt were sixth (4:04.14), while the compilation of Erin Morris, Uchechi Anunkor, Jordan Hardy and Jordan Smith were right behind in seventh (4:09.11).
Yanez, Menzies and Allen had strong showings individually, as well. Yanez was fifth in the 200m (25.05) while both Menzies and Allen finished seventh in the 400m (59.22) and mile (5:49.87 PB), respectively. All was joined by Amanda Berg in the mile, and she was fifth overall (5:36.03).
A slew of Rebels had personal bests on the day: Olivia Hudson in the 60m (8.01); Krystal Wharton in the 60m (8.14); Smith in the 200m (27.36); Affeld in the 400m (59.83); Rhea Hill in the 800m (3:02.82); Myshauna Alexander in the weight throw (49-7/15.11m); Oliva in the weight throw (46-11/14.30m) and Carine Owens in the weight throw (42-2.25/12.86m).
UNLV stays out on the road next week with a stop in Albuquerque next weekend at New Mexico's Don Kirby Invitational/Open on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 8-9).
