Rebels DMR Breaks School Record|

The UNLV track & field program witnessed the foursome of Avi'Tal Perteete, Yamilet Biggers, Spencer Moore and Elisa Rovere break its Distance Medley Relay record by nearly seven seconds Friday night at the Husky Classic. The quartet legged out a time of 11:38.42 in the event composed of four different distances (1200m, 400m, 800m and 1600m) to finish third overall.
Friday's DMR's time easily eclipsed the 11:45.38 posted by Laura Affeld, Mandy Chitwood, Miranda Menzies and Auzsane Crowe-Carter in 2014. Perteete led off the race with a time of 3:27 in the 1200m, while Biggers followed with a 56.5 in the 400m. Moore ran the third leg, the 800m, in 2:15.1, and Rovere finished it out with a 4:59.7 in the 1600m.
The Scarlet & Gray has entrants in nine events Saturday. The preliminary heats of the 60m hurdles gets day two's action started at 9:30 am, while UNLV's first field event is slated to begin with the weight throw at 10:00 am. The Rebels will end the day at 5:05 pm with the women's 4x400m relay.
The two-day meet hosted by Washington at the Dempsey Indoor features No. 1 Arkansas, No. 3 Oregon, No. 8 Texas, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Stanford, No. 17 Michigan and many more collegiate squads.
QUOTABLE: "I am truly proud of this group," said assistant track & field coach Jebreh Harris. "Their job was to just execute their individual races, and they did that. With us getting the school record was totally an added bonus."
