Rebels' DMR Rewrites 20-Year-Old Program Record

SEATTLE, Wash. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team competed in a trio of events Friday at Washington's Husky Classic and ended the evening with a program-best time in the distance medley relay and a couple of personal bests in a pair of events. The DMR foursome of Laura Affeld, Mandy Chitwood, Miranda Menzies and Auzsane Crowe-Carter ran a time of 11:45.48 to rewrite a record that has stood at UNLV since 1994 (11:46.29).

The Rebels had three run in the 200m with Laura Anuakpado running a personal-best 25.26, which was good enough for 11th overall. Alva Castillo also ran a PB in 25.56 (22nd), while Akia Armstrong was 58th in 27.12.

In the weight throw, Cortney Miller unleashed a PB-toss of 56-3.75 (17.16m) for an eighth-place finish. Myshauna Alexander came in 21st off a throw of 49-4.25 (15.04m).

The team returns to action Saturday bright and early at 8:30 am with Crowe-Carter running the mile.
