NAMPA, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team finished fifth overall at the 2013 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Nampa, Idaho at the Jacksons Indoor. The Rebels earned a total of 66 points, and they were paced by Emily Blok's wins in the 60m (7.38) and 200m 23.63) races - both in personal-best times - and Kelsey Williamson's victory in the 400m (55.31 PB).
Besides picking up the win in the 400m, Williamson finished third overall in the 800m with a final time of 2:11.02. She also partnered with Blok, Monay Meggs and Secoral Yanez for a second-place showing in the 4x400m relay. The quartet ran a time of 3:42.18, which was only seven one-hundredths behind San Diego State's foursome that won the race in 3:42.11.
"We had some great performances this weekend," said head coach Yvonne Wade. "Some athletes were able to step up and compete. We still have some work to do as a team, but I am proud of these Rebels this weekend."
Individually, Meggs finished fifth overall in the 400m with a time of 56.17 (PB).
SDSU won the indoor conference meet with a total of 123 points. New Mexico finished second (103) while Nevada, Reno (66) and Boise State (77.33) were third and fourth, respectively. Air Force (59.33), Colorado State (57.33), Wyoming (53) and Fresno State (38) rounded out the sixth through ninth.
