Humphries Shatters Record

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - UNLV junior thrower Monique Humphries accounted for all of UNLV track and field's points on Friday at the first full day at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Humphries finished fifth in the weight throw, breaking her own school record in the event with a mark of 58'-1.00", earning the Rebels four points. The mark eclipsed her previous record by almost a foot, which she tied two weeks ago at the same center with a distance of 57'-2.25".
It was the only points of the day for UNLV, which is in eighth place heading into Saturday's final day of competition. The BYU men and women both have the teams leads with one day left.
On the men's side, Wyoming and Colorado State are tied for second (53 points), followed by Air Force (35), New Mexico (19) and TCU (3).
Colorado State is currently in second place on the women's side (46 points), followed by San Diego State (30), Wyoming (20), Utah (18.5), TCU (7), Air Force (5), UNLV and New Mexico (3).
