Rebels Run Strong At Meet|

UNLV women's track and field had several individuals finished with top-five performances on Saturday afternoon at the UNLV Duel Meet, held at Myron Partridge Stadium and Sheila Tarr-Smith Field.
Aja Evans had a strong day for the Rebels, finishing second in the shot put with a heave of 46'-10.25" in the throwing ring. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the finishing line in a time of 24.26.
Evans' strong showing was one of many for the Rebels, who competed against student-athletes from Cal State Dominguez Hills, Texas and USC in the second outdoor meet of the season for UNLV.
On the track Charlotte Browning took home top honors in the 800 meters, coming across the finish line in a time of 2:13.30. Lauren Johnson added a fourth-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 11.97, Laura Lundin was third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:41.29 and Ashley Patin came in fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.31.
Browning was joined in the winners' circle by Meia Tezeno, who won the javelin with a toss of 94'-0.00". Claire Schreiner added a fourth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 5'-3.00" and Olivia Raya added a second place in the discus with a mark of 134'-6.00".
UNLV will return to action next Saturday at the Arizona State Invitational.
