Final Stats

TEMPE, Ariz. - UNLV women's track and field earned seven top-10 finishes on the track Saturday, highlighted by junior Sarah Muniz winning the steeplechase at the 31st annual Sun Angel Track Classic, which was held at Sun Angel Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University.

Muniz posted a season-best time of 10:54.32 to take home top honors in the steeplechase and improve on the second-fastest time in school history. Muniz dominated the race, finishing more than 24 seconds faster than the second-place runner.

Rebel senior Chauncey David-Jacobs ran to a pair of fourth-place finishes, clocking a time of 11.88 in the 100 meters and a time of 24.02 in the 200 meters. She also ran a on the 4x100 meter relay team that ran a time of 45.85 and finished fifth overall while competing in the premiere portion of the race. Also on that relay team were Shahnel Woodley, Emily Blok and Candise Maxwell, and that was the only team that did not compete in the college/open portion of the meet.

UNLV senior Bailey Kuestermeyer finished seventh in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:37.27 and Woodley added a 10th-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 12.07.

The Rebels' 4x400 meter relay team of Jennifer Johnson, Brett Zorich, Christine Lowe and Woodley posted the fastest time of any relay teams in the college/open division, clocking a time of 3:47.69.

 

 

UNLV will now compete in a pair of meets next weekend, traveling to California for the Beach Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays.
