Los Angeles- Despite going against some tough competition the UCLA invitational was full of highlights for UNLV, as several student- athletes posted strong results.

Brittney Bullocks had a lifetime best in the 400 meter with a time of 55.15 which was good for second place and the fastest time in the Mountain West Conference. Lekeisha Lawson took second in the 100 matching her season best time of 12.03. Lauren Johnson took fourth in the 100 with a time of 12.07. Kenya Polee came in third in the long jump with a distance of 18'11.

Jennifer Shearer had another strong performance for the second weekend in a row with another personal record, this time in the 1500 with a time 4:44.89. New comer Bailey Kuestermeyer made in her debut 1500 and took second in her heat with a time of 4:51.68. Bailey is also on the swim team for UNLV.

The 4X100 relay team fell just short of NCAA qualifying mark of 45.53 with a time of 45.92 which was good for a fourth place finish.

"The athletes came out to compete and their performances are showing great improvements. We have just over a month before our conference championships and meets like this give them the confidence that they need," says Yvonne Scott-Williams.

The next event is the Mt. Sac relays which is next Saturday in Walnut, California.
