CARSON, Calif. - UNLV track and field had an individual run a regional qualifying mark at the inaugural Pacific Coast Invitational held at the Home Depot Center on Friday.

Rebel sophomore Meia Tezeno ran a blazing time of 13.87 to win the 100-meter hurdles and earn a spot in the NCAA West Regional meet in the process. Tezeno then joined Lauren Johnson, Lekeisha Lawson and Aja Evans on the 4x100 relay that won with a time of 46.57.

That was part of a very strong meet for Tezeno, who won the long jump with a leap of 17'-8.75" and then finished second in the 100 meters by crossing the finish line in a time of 12.01.

Ashley Patin recorded an individual victory as well, breaking the tape at the finish line with a time of 1:06.04. Talyah Polee also had a strong performance at the meet, finishing second in the long jump with a distance of 17'-1.5" and fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.36.

Laura Lundin came in fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:17.70 and the 1,600 meter relay team finished second with a time of 4:04.10.

UNLV will now compete in a pair of meets tomorrow in California, with the majority of the team traveling to Long Beach for the Vs Athletics Invitational. Rebel distance runners Jennifer Shearer and Charlotte Browning will be competing in the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational at UCLA.
