WALNUT, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program's Myshauna Alexander claimed the top spot in the javelin throw on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. Alexander registered a personal-best throw of 158-9 (48.39m) for the win at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College.

Besides Alexander's victory, UNLV got one other top-five finish with Emily Blok's 100m time of 11.73 coming in as the fifth best.

Uchechi Anunkor ran the 100m along with Blok, and she finished 15th overall in 11.94. Anunkor also ran the 200m in a personal-best 24.07, which was good enough for 16th.

Erin Morris was 14th in the 100m hurdles with a 13.84 showing, also a personal-best effort.

Also competing for the Scarlet & Gray were: Monay Meggs (200m: 24.29), Alva Castillo (200m: 24.78 PB and 400m: 56.02 PB), Ashley Franklin (100m: 12.16), Corey Honeycutt (800m: 2:11.46), Kelsey Williamson (800m: 2:12.95) and Laura Affeld (400m: 1:03.66).

 

 

The Rebels will have participants compete Saturday at both the Mt. SAC Relays and the Beach Invitational. The latter meet will take place at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif.
