Walnut, Calif. - The final day of the Mt. Sac Invitational's brought the results that UNLV has been searching for as they reached the qualifying mark for the regional NCAA.
The 4x100 relay team has been seeking to reach the qualifying mark for the regional NCAA all season and it finally came on the last day of competition at Mt. Sac. The relay team which consisted of Tanesha Carr, Brittney Bullocks, Lekeisha Lawson and Lauren Johnson ran a qualifying time of 45.48 which also was good for a second place finish.
"It wasn't the prettiest race and we definitely can improve but the girls fought hard to get second overall and a regional mark," says head coach Yvonne Scott-Williams.
Johnson took second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.90 followed by Lawson who took third with a time of 11.97.
This weekend the team heads over to the Triton Invitational in San Diego, California.
