IRVINE, California (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team completed the final day of UC Irvine's adidas/Steve Scott Invitational with help from record-setting performances by Taylor Pegram in the 100m hurdles and Kaysee Pilgrim in the high jump.
Pilgrim registered an outdoor program- and personal-best measurement of 6-1.25 (1.86m) in the high jump, a distance that is 1.50 inches (.06m) better than the 6-0.75 (1.85m) she posted last season at the Mt. SAC Relays. Overall, she is leads the Mountain West in the event and sits third overall in the nation.
Pegram has now rewritten the program's top mark in the 100m hurdles three times with today's time of 13.34, which earned her sixth place in the event. Two weeks ago at the Bryan Clay Invitational she ran a then-best 13.37, which surpassed her first record-breaking performance that occurred at the UNLV's own Spring Invitational. On the year, she sits second in the Mountain West and is tied for 30th in the nation in the 100m hurdles.
"We are really pleased with the performances today," said head coach Yvonne Wade. "It was a really windy day, but the athletes stayed focused and got a lot accomplished. Now it's time to prepare for conference."

Smith-Barnett also claimed a personal best first-place time in the 100m (11.20), which is now second all-time on the outdoor program list.
