UNLV Track Places Seventh at Cal/Nevada Championships|

FRESNO, Calif. - UNLV participated at the Cal/Nevada Track and Field Championships April 25-26 in Fresno, California and ran to a seventh place finish among tough competition. The meet was highlighted by the 4x100 team that broke the meet record with a time of 45.40, topping the old record of 45.70.
Individually, Hydianne Harper continues to shine in the sprint events. Harper ran to a first place finish in the 200 meters (23.65) and a second place showing in the 100 meters (11.78). Jessica Marable also was a finalist, earning fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 49-10.5 and a seventh place finish in the discus, hurling 156-06. Freshman Katie Barto took ninth (10.17.00) and Amy Caring 26th (11:19.80) in the 3,000 meter run.
As a team the Rebels finish in seventh place with 50 points. They finished behind meet-winner
UCLA, Fresno State, San Diego State, Cal State Northridge, Stanford and Nevada-Reno. The
Rebels next competition is at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio on May 3.
