Williamson Wins 800m Race With Personal-Best Time|

IRVINE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team closed out the second and final day of the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational held at Anteater Stadium in Irvine, Calif., with 14 top-eight finishes in 13 events. Kelsey Williamson notched the lone victory for UNLV with a first-place showing in the 800m. Secoral Yanez (400m), Corey Honeycutt (800m), Ashley Henry (high jump) and the 4x100m relay finished second overall in their respective events.
The 800m produced four top-eight finishes for the Rebels with Williamson's time of 2:07.30, which was a personal best and ranks fourth in UNLV's outdoor performance list, leading the way. Honeycutt was second (2:09.88), while Alison Bartosch (2:10.46) and Brett Zorich (2:13.06) finished fourth and eighth, respectively.
Besides winning the 800m, Williamson finished eighth in the 400m with a time of 55.69.
Yanez was instrumental in helping UNLV claim three of the 13 top-eight finishes with her individual efforts in the 200m and 400m races and the 4x100m relay. She set a personal best in the 400m (54.48), while assisting the relay quartet claim a season-high time of 45.41 en route to second place. She was fourth in the 200m (24.05).
The 4x100m relay was comprised of Zadia Bryant, Uchechi Anunkor, Yanez and Lindsay Roach, and it only needed 45.41 seconds to notch the win. Anunkor also finished fifth in the 100m (11.84) and 10th in the 200m (24.60).
Bryant took third in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 40-0 (12.19m), and she added a ninth-place finish in the 100m (11.91).
The 4x400m relay foursome - Roach, Christine Lowe, Corey Honeycutt and Brett Zorich - took fourth with a time of 3:44.27.
The Rebels return to action at the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., which will take place May 10-12.
