EUGENE, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) - One day after running a leg of the 4x100m relay, UNLV's Emily Blok ran a 23.90 in the 200m at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Rebel senior finished 23rd overall on day two of the four-day meet held at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
UNLV's run at the national meet comes to a close after six members of its program competed on the first two days. Blok partnered with Uchechi Anunkor, Ashley Franklin and Monay Meggs in the relay, which finished 13th overall and earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors on Wednesday. She was also one of two individual competitors for the Scarlet & Gray, as her teammate Myshauna Alexander placed 18th overall in the javelin yesterday.
"I am extremely proud of our Rebels," proclaimed head coach Yvonne Wade. "I couldn't ask for anything more from them. For some of these girls it was their last time competing for UNLV. For the young ones, it was an opportunity to compete at the highest level collegiately. It will serve as a learning experience and a stepping stone for the future of UNLV track & field."
