Rebel Participate in Wolf Pack Invite
Jessica Marable Sets School Record in the Shot Put
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UNLV indoor track and field is now in full swing as the Rebels traveled to Reno for the second straight weekend. The Wolf Pack Invitational fielded tough competition, including Stanford, Fresno State, Washington State, Oklahoma, Long Beach State and San Diego State.
The Rebels had a good day all around, highlighted by Jessica Marable's school record 49'2 1/4" in the shot put. Marable broke the school record which she set just last week at the same field (47-8). Previous to that throw the record had been 12 years standing. Other UNLV standouts included Hydianne Harper, who took second overall in the 55 meter-dash with her time of 6.91. She had another second place finish later in the 200 meters, recording a time of 24.05.
In the mile, newcomer Denise Danielson (a transfer from Nevada, Reno) finished in third place with her time of 5:05.93. The last finalist for the Rebels was Laren Parker in the long jump. Parker finished in a tie for 11th place with her jump of 16'7".
UNLV's indoor season continues as the Rebels travel to the Bill Cosby Invite on Saturday, February 7.
