2014 Mountain West Indoor Championships: Championship Central | Schedule

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program will return to familiar territory this week with its second trip of the indoor season to the Cadet Field House on the grounds of the United States Air Force. The Rebels will compete in the 2014 Mountain West Indoor Championships that begin Thursday, Feb. 27, and runs through Saturday, March 1.

The three-day meet kicks off Thursday with the women's pentathlon (60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m) at 11:00 am MT (10:00 am PT). UNLV's Taylar Mills and Kylee Vandenberg are seeded seventh and 10th, respectively, in the event.

Friday's action will begin at 12:30 pm MT (11:30 am PT) for the Rebels and will mostly consist of qualification rounds for six events on the track (mile, 60m hurdles, 400m, 60m, 800m and 200m) except for the distance medley relay. Off the track, the trial and final rounds of the weight throw and long jump will take place.

Saturday will start at 11:00 am MT (10:00 am PT) with the trial portion of the triple jump. The shot put, slated for noon MT (11:00 am PT) will round out the Rebels participation in the field events, while the mile opens up the track competition at the same time.

UNLV's Monay Meggs enters the conference meet as the top seed in the 400m after she ran a personal-best time of 54.99 at the Husky Classic. Meggs is also seeded fourth in the 200m (24.63 at Mountain T's Invitational).

Three Rebels are highly seeded after they recorded personal-best time at the Husky Classic. Auzsane Crowe-Carter and Erin Morris are both seeded third in the mile (4:59.85) and 60m hurdles (8.45), respectively, while Alva Castillo is fourth in the 400m (56.48).

Both of UNLV's relay quartets are seeded near the top entering the meet. The 4x400m relay is second at 3:47.0, while the school-record setting DMR is third at 11:45.38.
