UNLV Ready For Cal-Nevada Meet|

LAS VEGAS - The Cal-Nevada Championships will bring a strong competition for the UNLV track and field team this weekend as it travels to UCLA to participate with teams from all across California and Nevada on Saturday and Sunday.
UCLA will play host to this weekend's championship meet, which will take place at Drake Stadium located in Los Angeles, Calif.
UNLV sprinters slated to compete include Lekeisha Lawson, Shahnel Woodley, Chauncey David-Jacobs. Lawson, Woodley, and Zadia Bryant will run in the 100 meters for UNLV. In the hurdles Christine Lowe, Candise Maxwell and Rachael Long will run for the Rebels.
"This meet is a great opportunity for the team to get a championship meet environment with a lot of the top schools in the west," said head coach Yvonne Scott-Williams. "I believe we are ready to do some impressive things this weekend and add some more good marks for this time of year."
Distances runners Jennifer Shearer and Isabelle Stoate will run for the Rebels, with Shearer competing in the 10,000 meters and Stoate in the 800 meters. Seniors Olivia Raya and Claire Schreiner will help lead UNLV in the field events.
UNLV is part of a field that of 30 universities, including in-state rival Nevada, Reno, host UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Mountain West Conference opponent San Diego State.
Saturday's field events will begin at 10:30 AM (PT) with the women's javelin throw with running events starting roughly at 1:00 PM (PT).
