Nine Individuals, One Relay Heading To Austin|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program will send nine student-athletes to Austin for the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preliminary Championship competition scheduled for May 24-26 at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Amanda Bingson, who just recently won her third consecutive Mountain West hammer throw crown, will lead a trio of throwers deep in the heart of Texas. Bingson enters the preliminary round as the top qualifier in the hammer. She will be joined by Danielle Rios in the event, while Myshauna Alexander will compete in the javelin.
Deja Edwards was the lone jumper to qualify for the Rebels, and she will participate in the long jump.
Emily Blok qualified for three events for UNLV: the 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay. Blok will partner up with Christine Lowe, Kelsey Williamson and Brett Zorich to form the relay squad. Lowe, Williamson and Zorich will also run in individual events, as well. Lowe will participate in the 400m hurdles, while both Williamson and Zorich will compete in the 800m.
Secoral Yanez rounds out the track competitors, as she will run in the 200m.
In all, there will be 48 competitors in each event and a total of 117 schools representing the women's side. The top 12 finishers in the preliminary round advance to the NCAA Championships that will be held in Des Moines, Iowa on June 6-9.
