May 26, 2005
LAS VEGAS - Six athletes will represent UNLV women's track and field at the NCAA Outdoor West Regional Championships held in Eugene, Ore., at Hayward Field this Friday and Saturday as the Rebels look to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The top five finishers from each individual regional event and the top three relays earn automatic invites to the NCAA Championships on June 8-11 in Sacramento, Calif.
Christine Spence, Halima Decree, Brittney Bullocks, Miesha McClendon, Michele Suszek and Deanna Appuglise all will run for UNLV as the Rebels have athletes in six different events along with the 4x100 meter relay.
Spence and DeCree represent UNLV's strongest chances of advancing to the NCAA Championships. DeCree has the second-fastest time in the 100 with an 11.25 and the seventh-fastest time in the 200 meters at 23.58.
