Rebels Earn Fifth Straight Academic Team Honor|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program was named a 2014 Division I All-Academic Track & Field Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the fifth straight year behind its 3.02 cumulative GPA. UNLV was one of 208 squads to earn honors for its efforts not only in competition, but also inside the classroom.
"It has always been a team goal to make academics a major priority," said head coach Yvonne Wade. "Our young women worked very hard in the classroom to achieve this goal."
To be eligible for academic recognition, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Besides the USTFCCCA's announcement, the program's academic efforts were recognized with 17 individuals being named to the Spring 2014 Academic All-Mountain West Team, seven more earned the conference's scholar-athlete award and 15 earned were named to the Dean's List. Overall, 27 of the student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA or better.
