Robinson Finishes Fourth In 800m Heat|
Aug. 6, 2012
LONDON (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV assistant track & field coach Khadevis Robinson finished fourth overall in his first-round heat in the 800m on Monday at the 2012 London Olympics held at the Olympic Stadium. Robinson clocked a time of 1:47.17.
Robinson, who began coaching at UNLV in January of 2011, crossed the line in fifth place, but a referee's decision to disqualify Kuwait's Mohammad Al-Azemi following the race moved all runners up one position.
His 800m teammates, Nick Symmonds and Duane Solomon, both won their respective heats and advanced the semifinal rounds.
UNLV's Amanda Bingson will have to wait until Wednesday morning (2:00 am PT / 10:00 am BST) before she participates in the women's hammer throw qualification round. Bingson, a three-time USTFCCCA All-American and four-time Mountain West champion, qualified for the Olympics with a personal-best toss of 71.78m (235-6) at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
