LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team visited the Sunrise Children's Hospital this week. The two entities have created a great relationship with the Rebel program sending three to four student-athletes at a time to visit the children at the hospital. This opportunity allows all of the squad's 50-plus student-athletes to chat and do crafts with the children.
"It has been a rewarding opportunity for us to be able to bring some joy to these children when they are dealing with such difficult health issues," said Rebel head coach Yvonne Wade. "The young women on our Track team have done an amazing job putting smiles on their faces."
"Thank you to the UNLV women's track team for regularly visiting the children at Sunrise Children's Hospital," noted Laura Gould, Sunrise Children's Hospitals' Certified Child Life Specialist. "The staff at Sunrise Children's Hospital has seen an improvement in our children's spirits and physical well-being as they look forward to and participate in activities with the UNLV women's track & field team."
