Volunteer Assistant Coach

Rebels Suffer Home Loss To New Mexico

UNLV volleyball gets a double-double from Stephanie Thelen, but drops 3-1 decision to Lobos.

Angie Vetter begins her first season with the Rebels as a volunteer assistant coach.

Vetter, formerly Angie Sylvas, played three seasons at UNLV from 1997-99. She left as the school's career kills (912) and attempts (2398) record-holder and still holds the career kills record by three over senior Leiana Oswald heading into the 2003 season. She also holds the season kills (424) and attempts (1107) records, both attained in 1998.

Vetter transferred to UNLV from San Jose State. She recorded 20 or more kills in each of her first four matches at UNLV and was UNLV's first-ever WAC Volleyball Player of the Week.

"I'm excited to have one of UNLV's greatest players on my coaching staff," Collins said. "She'll be a great help to our outsides and middles."
